We break this section down into two categories here in order to speed up the decision making process. Either you sell ice already or you do not.

I already sell ice:

  1. If you buy your ice from a local ice manufacturer you need the equipment the quicker the better.
    1. Here is a quick way to see if it makes economic sense to purchase a Kooler Ice vending machine.
      1. Add up your ice cost for the last year. This is check you write to ABC Ice Company every week
      2. Add in your costs for ice used in the store fountain soda ice, soda barrels, etc.
      3. Add in your time to manage the ice inventory phone calls, extra help on delivery day, all 52 weeks of it.
      4. Add in any loss for any reason, shrink. If you are merchandising your ice on the sidewalk you know what I am talking about.
      5. Take that total and divide by 12. This is your current cost per month. If it is greater than $400 per month we need to talk now.

  2. If you make and bag your own ice it may be a tougher decision.
    1. Are you able to handle your current summer ice sales volume without running out, if you just answered yes how did that make you/your customer feel?
    2. If you do run out do you solve this problem by supplementing your ice supply in the summer by buying ice from a local manufacturer?
    3. If you answered yes read through the "I all ready sell ice" above.
    4. Do you sell 24/7? If not we can increase your sales volume.
    5. Are you happy with the quality of your current ice bagging operation? Are contamination and hygiene always top notch?
    6. Do the employees always have enough ice made and at the proper time for your customers?
    7. You already understand the profit margin in your ice business, now are you ready to remove most of the headaches?
